Sue Gaines graduated from Syracuse University in New York with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and P.E. She then completed Early Childhood Education at AIMS Community College, and has taken classes toward a masters degree at the University of Northern Colorado. Sue Gaines was born and raised in upstate New York. She has lived in Colorado for the past 30 years and feels right at home here. For 15 years she has taught grades 1-4 in the Arvada Seventh-day Adventist School. Previous to that she directed Sunshine Lane Day Care and taught kindergarten. Mrs. Gaines has been widowed for 24 years, is the mother of four grown children and the proud grandma of six. When not involved with school activities, Mrs. Gaines enjoys family get togethers, especially when they involve the grandkids, and watching and playing sports. Two lucky cats, Murphy and Alley, reside with her. Mrs. Gaines' goals for the year are to foster a positive learning environment that is Christ centered. Her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13: "I can do everything through him who gives me strength." |
