Kindergarten
Mrs. Tusken

Tomorrow is our field trip to the Golden Railroad Museum.  We will be outside most of the day, so please dress accordingly.  Please remember to pack a sack lunch that will not need to be re-heated in a microwave.

We will continue our countdown on Thursday with Q-quick timed events, and Friday with R-red day (wear all red).

Kindergarten Graduation will be at 7:00 on Thursday, May 25.  We are the first part of the event, so please be on time.

There will be no more sentence practices for the rest of the year. 19 was the last one!

Grades 1-2
Mrs. Gaines

Thanks for the prayers and concerns for my health.  I am feeling well and doing well, ready to finish off the school year.  I missed all the kids and am happy to be back!

Tomorrow is our All Aboard for the Colorado Railroad Museum.  I hope everyone has their permission slip with the $5.00 already in the office.  Remember to bring a lunch and dress appropriately, especially shoes.  We’ll be taking the Vista Ridge bus with Mr. Britt and the kindergarten crew.  There’s still room if you would like to join us.

We do need more adult supervision for the rec. center trip on the 24th of this month.  What we need, are those of you who are willing to get into the pool with the students.

On Tuesday the 23rd, we’ll have water day.  Of course this depends on the weather, so I’ll let you know details as we get closer to the day.

Grades 3-4
Mr. Breese

Things are winding down quickly.  The end of the year is almost here!  We have finished our spelling and are now reviewing words from past lessons.  Fourth grade has also finished their handwriting books and are practicing using memory verses.  Third grade has finished “Sarah, Plain and Tall” and is going to start a new book called “Yang the Youngest and His Terrible Ear”. Fourth has finished “The Single Shard” and is going to be doing a “free reading” book.  A report will be due at the end of next week.

Memory Verse Hebrews 11:6 (last part)

Grades 5-6
Mrs. Hodgson

Everyone did an outstanding job at the Jogathon last Friday.  It was exciting to see everyone running and cheering each other on.  Tyler Lee ran the most laps (28) for our room.  Soon we will see who brought in the most funds!

Tomorrow evening we will be going to the Boulder Dinner Theater.  Students are allowed to stay after school or go home with parents and return ready to depart at 4:45.  If you are staying at school, please bring clothes to change into before we leave.  Formal dress is not required, but casual dress is appropriate.  Please no jeans.  Don’t forget to bring additional money if you are ordering dessert.

Our own 9th & 10th grade Dessert Theater will be Thursday evening.  The gym will be unavailable this week as they set up staging, rehearse, and prepare.  Please dress for outdoors during recess and PE times.

Jog-A-Thon

Students ran their hearts out at the Jog-a-thon!  Thank you!  Please try and have all your sponsorship monies turned in as soon as possible!

2006 Yearbook

Information Update—The yearbook staff would like to notify parents and students that our 2006 yearbook will be a summer delivery as in years past.  We will notify you this summer when we will have our yearbook party.  If you are out of town, we will be sure and save a copy for you.

Dress Code

Do to popular demand, the school board has reconsidered the dress code for next year and will allow students to wear shirts with patterns (stripes, plaids, etc.).  The requirements for the types of shirts will remain the same, just the pattern requirements have changed.  Thank you for your support and recommendations in this area.
