We have been having tons of fun with our count down to the end of school. Yesterday we celebrated Dd with trying to eat donuts hanging from the ceiling, using only our mouths!! (No hands!!)Today was E-estimation day. The rest of the week will be F-friends, G-game day. bring your favorite game to school (please no sound games), and H-half day.
On May 10 we will be going to the Colorado Railroad Museum and on May 24 we will be going to the Broomfield Rec. Center for swimming and a picnic. 2 parents have already volunteered to get in the pool with the children; I still need one more volunteer. So if you like to get wet, I have the perfect field trip for you!! Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks.
We have some new class pets that just arrived last Thursday! There are 5 new caterpillars and about 6-7 baby ladybugs. For our theme this week, we are studying each pet’s life cycle. And we will observe all the transformations over the next three weeks. The kids are noticing daily changes and have been very excited to see the growth. They can’t wait for the butterflies!
No sentence practice this week. And please remember there is no hot lunch this Thursday.
Grades 1-2
Mrs. Gaines
Pet Week has been a real hit. We’ve met some adorable, well mannered pets! They just keep coming! Last week Arie, Emily, and Trevor presented their dogs. We even got to meet a robot dog that was quite clever, thanks to Alexis. Yesterday, Adam introduced us to his bob tailed Japanese cat, who was very brave to come to school. We look forward to visiting with more talented pets this week.
On May 10th we have a field trip with Mrs. Tusken and the kindergarten class to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. We’re looking forward to a fun day. Later in May, we’ll celebrate the end of the school year with swimming and a picnic at the Broomfield Rec. Center. We encourage parents to join us on either of these trips.
Grades 3-4
Mr. Breese
Just a reminder that Thursday, April 27th, is the 3rd and 4th grade Spelling Bee at Mile High Academy. We will leave around 8:30 am and get back before school is out. I’m still looking for 2-3 parents to go along and help out. If you can do this, please let me know ASAP. I could really use the help. Lunch is $3.00 + .35 for milk and .50 cents for dessert or you can pack a lunch for your child/ren. I need to know by 9:30 tomorrow (Wednesday) how many hot lunches, let the office know. See Mr. Breese for other details.
We’re doing a Dictionary unit this week and next week. Some students still don’t have a dictionary. So if you could make sure each child has a dictionary to bring to school I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again for your help and support. |
Texas
We had a great time, the kids were well behaved, did their chores and we think we are dead on our budget. Everything was superb and we had a fantastic time. A BIG thank you to all the supporters and sponsors who went along.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found will be put out at the end of the month. Please label your stuff and we’ll get it back to you! Any questions please call Debbie Smith at 303-469-8043.
Jog-A-Thon
Third Annual Jog-A-Thon will be held on Friday, morning after worship on May 5. Proceeds will go to the VRA sponsorship fund. Students are encouraged to get sponsors per lap or flat fee before the event. They will have an hour in which to complete as many laps as possible. Forms are included in the Tue. folders or you may get additional ones in office. We would like to have parents volunteer to help with the event. Come support the kids.

The weather has warmed and it is time to wear cooler clothes (except for today!). Remember, no tank tops, no halter tops, no flip flops. Sandals may be worn if they have a heel strap.
