Classroom News

Kindergarten
Mrs. Tusken

I hope everyone had a great spring break!  Our theme this week is spring—even though it doesn’t look much like spring outside!

Parent Teacher Conferences are next Wednesday.  If you would like to meet with me, please fill in a preferred time on the pink sheet and return.  If you would like a conference by phone, please let me know.

Just a reminder about the History Fair:  Please help your child choose a historical person to resemble in costume.  Each Kindergarten student will be judged at the event!

Grades 1-2
Mrs. Gaines

Welcome Spring!  We eagerly look forward to warm sunny days, but this cool snowy weather has been ideal for our dog sled practice.  We know first hand what frostbite feels like.

Get ready for “April Fools the Class”, to be performed on March 31st, (no fooling) at 11:30.  Hope you can join us.

Check out the enclosed information on the Iditarod reports.  These are due by April 6th when we have the History Fair.  Reports are not limited to these topics.  If you have another idea, we’ll check it out.

Field Trip on Wed April 5th, to the local landfill.  We are looking for drivers.

Grades 3-4
Mr. Breese

Hope everyone had a great Spring break.  I’m glad to be back and see the students again.

Friday is the end of the third term.  Please check with your child to see if they are caught up and have all of their work in.  Parent/teacher conferences will be next Wednesday the 29th.  If you would like to see me about the progress of your child please make an appointment.  I will be available until 5:00 p.m.  I am also available after school for those who stop by to pick up their children.

We are having a History Fair on Thursday, April 6th.  Since we are studying Native American’s of the East, I would like to come up with a simple project for each student, such as posters, diorama, etc.  I will be talking with each student to see what they would like to do.

Challenge spelling words:  matter, chemical, density, solution, physical, property.

Memory Verse:  Matthew 5:44

Grades 5-6
Mrs. Hodgson

Students who are participating in Music Festival have a detailed schedule and permission slip in today’s folder.  Please complete the form and return it tomorrow.  There will be regular classes for those not attending.

There are no grades in today’s folder.  The quarter ends Friday.  Report cards will be available next week at Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday (school is out at 12:15).  If you would like to meet with me there is a pink sign up form in today’s folder.

Students need a protractor for math!

Please take special note of the History Fair information in today’s folder.

Grades 7-10
Mr. Pauls
Mr. Wuerfel
Ms Schneider

The drama team will perform at Chapel Haven on March 25.

Galveston Update:  The students have almost raised the full amount for the trip.  The students have worked hard to raise the funds together as well as earning $100 on their own to contribute.  We are still lacking $50 per student. We are asking the parents to contribute the $50 per student to meet our entire budget goal.  Thank you for helping us.

!!!Bus Riders!!!
