Classroom News

Kindergarten
Mrs. Tusken

We are having so much fun learning all about our bodies. Everyone was shocked when they learned that they have around 206 bones in their bodies!! Today we wrapped up our theme on our bodies.  Tomorrow we will study the life and work of Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss’s birthday is March 2. Next week we will start our unit “In the Sky”.

Our new sentence practice for this week is focusing on the words three and what. I can tell that everyone has been using these to practice reading.  Most of the children are becoming very good readers!!  Keep up the good work!!

Grades 1-2
Mrs. Gaines

The highlight for last week was the Classroom Olympics Program on Friday, complete with a medal ceremony.  For the closing program on Monday, we made fireworks displays.

Reports for this week and next will be to write three clues so the class can guess what the item is in the bag.

We are in need of the following:  Kleenex, wide ruled notebook paper, and glue sticks.  Some students also need, (want) new markers.

Grades 3-4
Mr. Breese

I am looking forward to reading and sharing the animal reports and Parables of Jesus Books with the class.  The students have been practicing origami the last few weeks and we are planning to create one for each letter of the alphabet.  We plan to make an ABC book  which will be a fun project as the students really enjoy origami.

Grades 5-6
Mrs. Hodgson

We have three weeks until the quarter ends.  Two weeks before Spring Break and one after.  Please be encouraged to keep working your hardest.

This Thursday evening several students will be going to a concert with Mrs. Carlisle.  Since they will be returning late, we will take the Memory Verse and Spelling Test on Thursday.  Friday is the Basketball Tournament at our school (starting at 8:30 a.m.)  Students who have their work done for the week will be able to watch the games while the others finish any outstanding work for the week.
