Classroom News
Kindergarten
Mrs. Tusken
We are ending the month of February with our theme on the human body. Our first two themes for the month of March are “Dr. Seuss” and “In the Sky”.
Our literature connection for this week is “Our Busy Bodies” by Kelly Rockwell.
Our sentence practice for this week is focusing on the words do and two.
Grades 1-2
Mrs. Gaines
Thanks to all who participated in the talent show. You did a fabulous job.
On Friday we’ll be holding our classroom Olympics. Scheduled events include: paper airplanes, bubble gum blowing, horse race, writing numbers 1-100.
Grades 3-4
Mr. Breese
Our Parables of Jesus books are almost finished and I am looking forward to getting them laminated and bound. I hope they will be ready before Spring vacation. The students are doing much better with the times tables, but there are still a few who do not know them very well. You might want to check your child’s understanding by going through them at home. It will give you an idea of how well they know them. If there are still problems, I would really try to work with them each evening until they are able to repeat them without hesitation. It will really make their math assignments much easier.
Grades 5-6
Mrs. Hodgson
We had a great Ski/Ice Skating Day last week as well as a great time on our field trip to Avista Hospital’s Physical Therapy Center. It was very educational. Thank you to Mr. Jeff Wagnaar for giving us a tour.
The next grade report will be in next Tuesday’s Folder. There will be a math test on Friday as well as a Social Studies quiz tomorrow.
Mrs. Carlisle will be gone on Monday, February 27. Students do not need to bring their band instruments.
Some of our students are going to a Band Concert on Thursday evening, March 2. Since it will be a late evening, all students will take their memory verse and spelling test on Thursday. Friday is the basketball tournament at VRA. Our class will have the possibility to watch the games if all their work is complete for the week.
Grades 7-10
Mr. Pauls
Mr. Wuerfel
Ms Schneider
We will have vespers, GLO, on the 24th of February from 7-9 p.m. This is a completely student led event so please bring them out! We will bring in the Sabbath by creatively inviting God into our lives through music, snacks, prayer, and fellowship.
Girls Slumber Party: The slumber party at Miss Schneider’s house for the 7-10 grade girls is this Saturday, February 25. Please bring $3 to contribute to the food. The party will start with supper at 6 pm. The girls need to be picked up on Sunday by 1 pm. Please bring pillow, sleeping bag, towel, and washcloth. Phone # 303-440-7064. See enclosed map for directions. Miss Schneider. |
Lost and Found
Lost and Found will be put out on Thursday and Friday. Please check your items.
Music
Gloria Dei did an awesome job at the Boulder Church on Saturday and are now preparing for Music Festival in March. Any students in grades 5-12 may join in the Thursday rehearsals from 1:40-2:30 p.m. (with teacher's permission) to rehearse the Music Festival music.
Good job to the Cherub Choir’s performance at the talent show they looked and sang great.
Basketball
There is no basketball game this Friday. Both the girls and the guys teams won against Cedarwood last Friday. Both teams are tied for first place.

at it, bring in all the Campbell's Labels and bonuses that you have so far. Thank you for helping Vista Ridge Academy earn cash and school equipment. Students in all grades have been enjoying the huge
